As a former collegiate softball player, lifelong athlete, and all-around competitive person, Ashley was looking for something that would fill the softball-sized void in her heart after college ended. In 2017 Ashley walked into her first CrossFit class and never looked back. CrossFit became a way to fuel Ashley’s competitive drive in a team-like environment, while also acting as an outlet for stress and her happy place. The community was extremely welcoming, fun, and open, and some of her best friends are folks she has met through CrossFit. Ashley felt compelled to help other people and give back to the organization that had given her so much, so she jumped into coaching with enthusiasm and lots of energy (and a pretty good playlist- if she does say so herself). Her favorite thing about coaching is helping people improve and grow, not only in the gym, but in life. Her other favorite things include wallballs, a heavy barbell, sharks, and dogs. Outside of the gym Ashley is an epidemiologist with the state health department and a softball coach at MIT.
