Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20th (tomorrow) that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. TDOR was started in 1999 by transgender advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smith as a vigil to honor the memory of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was killed in 1998 and all those people lost to violence since Rita Hester’s death, and began an important annual tradition.
You can participate in TDOR by attending the Boston Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil at First Baptist Jamaica Plain, 633 Centre street on November 20th from 2:00–6:00pm, which will be hosted by the MA Transgender Political Coalition
You can also donate to the Transgender Emergency Fund of Massachusetts found here https://transemergencyfund.org/
