Cristey came to CrossFit in 2019 with the ultimate goal of becoming the best version of herself after moving to Boston from Washington State. Exercise and weightlifting had been something she dabbled in throughout college, but never fully committed to the challenge of training beyond her perceived athletic abilities. As a dedicated 6am-er, Cristey found JPCF to be more than a place to sweat and throw around heavy objects, but also a community that accepted and welcomed all individuals regardless of identity and ability. Will she endlessly complain before every WOD that involves running? Absolutely. But she believes the beauty of CrossFit is that it will always push you out of your comfort zone and into a territory that once felt unreachable. Outside of the gym, Cristey is a licensed Clinical Social Worker at Boston Childrens Hospital and has an endless list of odd jobs (that continues to grow) because she likes to stay busy at all times.
